This Year I’m Staying In is a studio test at the close of the year, a moment to slow down, turn inward, and reconsider how New Year's Eve celebration imagery is traditionally portrayed.

Rather than spectacle or celebration, this series focuses on rest, softness, and private ritual. Towels replace evening wear and luxury self-care, rather than ostentation. The gestures are small and honest, intentional, rooted in comfort and presence rather than performance.

Working within a restrained palette and a minimal set, the images explore the luxury of self-care as something quiet and personal, an act of attention rather than indulgence.

This test was not created for a campaign or commission. It is a visual study, a way to observe how light, expression, and restraint can communicate luxury through simplicity. In choosing to stay in, the work reframes the New Year as a moment of grounding rather than renewal through excess.
