Stark Beauty

Stark Beauty is an editorial portrait series exploring restraint, ornament, and quiet power. Featuring model Callie Derry, the project draws inspiration from Elizabethan beauty and medieval fashion, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

Photographed by Stephanie Trattner, the series balances softness with structure, using period-inspired styling and deliberate composition to create images that feel both timeless and current. The presence of Dolly adds a subtle layer of contrast, introducing warmth and intimacy into an otherwise formal visual language.

Hair and makeup by Alyssa Courtney reference historical beauty traditions while remaining intentionally modern, allowing texture, skin, and expression to lead each frame. The result is a body of work that feels poised, intentional, and quietly expressive.
